Superstition and myths go hand-in-hand with the feline. The misconceptions about the kitties have found a place in legends and history. Surprisingly, there are some myths that are still not debunked. 1. Milk is good for every cats


On contrary to the common believe, milk is not a necessity for the feline. They can get the required nutrient from the cat food if the right quality is fed to them. At the same time, milk may upset the stomach of most of the feline, especially the cow milk. The felines sometimes loose there ability to produce the enzyme that is needed to digest the lactose. Thus, it is advisable to feed the kitty with lactose-free milk. Or else the packed food can provide the feline with the balanced diet.

2. Cats loves to stay indoors

The kitties are a bit introvert and not a social butterflies like the dogs. Thus, it is usually mistaken that they like to stay at home. This is one of the myths that need to be debunked for the domestic kitties. Every animal loves a little stroll at least once in a day and the felines are no different. It is a fact that they prefer staying in their comfort zone, but even they need some fresh air at times. Other than this, there are chances that the feline may start hunting if they are given a chance to go out. Thus, make sure that you don’t allow her to go out unsupervised. Even cat playhouses and scratching post can channelize the hunter instinct of the kitty.

3. Black cats are evil

According to legends, the black cats were witches reincarnated as feline and so they brought bad luck. The days are gone and we are now in the 21st century. The black felines are as innocent and lovable as the white and brown ones as well as any other animal around. These legends are nothing more than myths.

Felines in particular poses no threat to the infants. It is just a matter of fact that the hunter instinct of the carnivores may take a toll at their nerve. Thus, it is advisable to keep them away from the nursery. Moreover, it takes seconds for pulling the tail and for a handful of fur. The kitty may retaliate and there have been cases when the felines ended up hurting the kids. This requires gradually training both of the kids as well as for the kitties.

5. Kitties hate other animals

The felines like staying in their comfort zone and take intruders in their proximity, but they are not animal haters. It is said that leave behind the dogs, they can’t even adjust with other kitties which is absolutely wrong. The domestic felines create great rapport with other animals at home. You just need to put in some effort in order to make them friends. Seeking professional help is advisable at times.

6. They can be left alone


The feline may appear to be independent and reserve, but they require as much care as the dogs. Leaving them alone is one of the mistakes that most of the fur parent make. The kitties shouldn’t be left alone for long, especially the young ones. The may end up getting into some sort of trouble. Moreover, never leave them go out without any sort of supervision. It is even recommended to put an address tag in the cat collar of the feline when going out as they are less likely to trace their way back home.


7. Felines don’t love their masters

The fur may add to the cuteness, but it requires regular trimming. Keep the nails clean and bathe the kitty regularly. The toiletries that you use for them should be of high-quality. Brush and rub the fur and keep their ears and teeth clean.
