There are very few things in the world that a cat loves and loves it with his/her whole heart. Food is definitely one of them but that’s not! There are a few more things that your feline friends love and that’s exactly you need to make sure she gets in order to provide her a happy and healthy life.

Cat with Men

Cats are intelligent beings and if they love anything above their cat food is you. Not all of you (the entire family) but the one who would pet her and shower the love & affection on her. Moreover, it is not only about the pure breeds but the feral cats to love to interact with humans. It is just you who needs to spend more time with them and interact in the language they understand - love.

2. Playing

Playing Cat

Who doesn’t like playing around? With so many cat toys available online, you can imbibe the habit of playing for the desired time with your kitty. This span of time serves as the human-cat bonding as well as allows the feline to stretch out and learn newer things for that matter. Whether you give them toys to fetch or it is the real kill situation, they’ll give their best shot at it.

3. Happening surroundings

Whether it is the birds sitting on a tree branch chirping sweetly or squirrels jumping around, cats love to sit and watch everything happening around them. It is more like - they like it when something is constantly happening around rather than being monotonous. If things are still, they’re boring for them. Moreover, the birds and squirrels provoke your feline for a chase which leads to either a prey well caught or a day of practice with nothing in hand.

4. Food

Cat with Food

Who doesn’t like food? My cat would start jumping from her place when she saw my mom head to the kitchen and would constantly make noise until she would feed her something. Food is cat’s weakness and she would do anything to make sure her stomach is filled with her favorite cat food. Have you ever tried to stop your cat in the midway of eating or when they ask for it? You’d find those eyes go brighter and shinier begging for food or they’ll snatch it from you the moment they realize you’re out of focus.

5. Sleep

Cat while Sleeping
A kitty can be equally active as lazy she can get. Nobody can between her and the sleep. While there’ll be those cats who’ll wake up the moment you pick a packet of chips and then there’ll be those who would prefer to stay comfy in their bed even when you blow drums around them and dance around with food in your hand. Probably they’re in the charge mode and when they’ll wake up, they’ll be back in action.

6. Scratching

Isn’t this what they love doing a lot? No wonder why cat’s scratching posts were introduced to all the cat parents. They enjoy using their sharp claws to scratch anything and everything that comes across them. Hence, having a scratch post helps them focus on scratching the respective item and abstain the kitty from destroying your furniture or walls.

7. Hiding

It might be instinctual by nature for a cat to hide, but no matter how happy your cat feels to socialize with everyone, she would definitely find time to hide and leave everyone else guessing of her whereabouts. Whether it is the cardboard box or the terrace, she would love to hide and wants others to find her.

5 Mistakes you should avoid while feeding a cat

Even though, cats are not as high maintenance as most dogs, there are a lot of precautions that you need to take in raising a kitty. In fact, adopting a furball is as good as bringing a child home. They don’t demand the best of the luxuries from you, but you need to nurture them as you kid. There are many elements to keep your feline healthy and perhaps the food is one of the most important of them all. Substituting the love for food is not all. Though tasty treat is the first and the last love of the kitty, there are certain thing that you need to consider while feeding them.

Listed below are some the mistakes that most fur-parent commit while feeding the feline. Check them out and make sure that your avoid such blunders.

1. Veterinary checkups

Ignoring the veterinary is the most common mistake of all. Just because you are buying the best brand in the market and feline is enjoying the flavor doesn’t mean that everything is fine. There are times when we miss out the signs of the food allergies. So, everything you get a cat food or change the brand and flavor, remember to consult a vet first. Take the suggestion of an expert and he’ll be able to give the exact suggestion of which food to take.

2. Overfeeding

This is another mistake of the crazy cat persons. Showing your love in the form of food is not a good idea. The kitties will never ask you to stop feeding them, but you’ll have to take care of the diet regime of the furry friend. Moreover, the treats while training the kitty should be controlled as well. Keep proper time gap between the meal, however, make sure that you’re not starving the kitty. A small doses of snacks in between the meal is perfect. Moreover, use cat measuring cups to keep count of the food that you’re serving. Seek the help of an expert to know the exact amount of food that your kitty needs.

3. Water is a must

Some feline don’t like the taste the water, but it’s an important part of the meal that is a must for the health of the pet.

So, give them wet food, this will maintain the balance of water in their body. Constantly feeding them with dry food may lead to dehydration and other related problems. So, maintain a healthy balance between dry and wet food. At time, things like cat wine can even treat the kitty and make up for the liquid deficiency in the body.

4. Vegetarian diet

The vegan culture prevailing in the society is a very good thing. However, the kitties must not be subjected to it. They are carnivores and need to eat meat. This is the only source of Vitamin A, B12 and other such supplements that are a must to keep the kitty healthy. So, whether you eat non-veg in the house or not, make sure that you get some for the furry family member.

5. Food without exercise

Do not pamper the laziness of the feline. Make sure that she is undergoing some exercise after meal. There are cat treat launchers that shoot treats and intrigue the cats to jump around and catch the food. Other than this, the cat toys are the best way to make them do some physical exercise. Don’t let them sleep straight away after the food, this may lead to digestion issues.

6. Raw meat

The hunting nature of the feline is difficult to handle. They’ll surely hunt for the mouse and birds. Try to keep them indoors, so that, they don’t get a chance to hunt outside. Other than this, do not feed them with raw fish and meat. The felines have very sensitive stomach, so it may effect them in the long run. Seek the advice of an expert if you’re cooking handmade food for the feline. They can give you a clear idea of what the kitty can eat.

Just a bit of precaution and ensure health for your furry friend. Were these points helpful? Share your views in the comments below.

Cats and Cartons: Inseparable Companions

Have you ever wondered that why cats love those empty cartons at your house? The answer is obvious they love the warmth and the compactness that the box provides. Hazel(My kitty) loves crawling into the boxes.  I noted it once and started painting the cartons with bright colors so that we can have a cute photo shoot as well. She didn't use it the first week. Maybe, she didn't like the fragrance of the paint. Later, my husband suggested to dry the boxes in the sun and then give a try. Luckily, his idea worked. She started using them. Now it's like she never uses her cat house, which has a bigger space comparatively. However, it's fun to watch her playing with the containers.

Like Hazel, there are many other felines, who love playing with cardboard boxes. The below blog contains images of such cute fur balls and their cases. Scan on to know more.

1. I love my sofa!!

This feline seems to be so fond of her new place that she refuses to come out.  She is seen comfortably seated into the box and looks like an adorable teddy bear.

2. How many times should I meow that don’t disturb me while I'm asleep?

This guy who seems to love sleeping in his container is trying to open his eyes. However, the warmth of the box is not letting him do so.

3. AHHH!! What a relaxing spot!

He is comfortably settled in and looks like a guy who is enjoying the warmth of the sun on the Hawaii beach.

4. Can I have a bigger box, please?

Maybe the owner has to work harder the next time to impress him with a bigger one.

5. Are you guys trying to eat something without me?

The baby just smelled the aroma of muffins baked in the kitchen.

6. Excuse me!!! Do you have these in size kitten?

It would have been nice if Ed Sheeran had sung the“Shape of you” for this adorable one.

7.  I don’t want the toys that came in the box! I just want the box!

This cool guy just wants the warmth of the carton instead of playing like a kid. LOL!

8. You look tired? Do you need this cozy place to get some rest??

He is a kind-hearted fellow, very few of them are concerned about their friends.

9. Wake me up only when it’s time to eat!

This Chocolate box couldn’t have been used in a better way.

10. OH MY GOSH! Is it my birthday today??

There couldn’t have been a better reaction to this when her owner gifted her a shoe box.

Above were some of the funny reactions by the felines. Hope you guys enjoyed reading it.
